If an item is damaged, expired, or missing, you can write it off to keep your inventory accurate. This guide walks you through how to create and post an item write-off in both XSiteIO and Classic.
Writing Off an Item in XSiteIO
- Go to Price Book > Inventory > Item Write-Off in the side menu.
- Choose your store and supplier from the dropdown menus.
- Click the New button to start a new write-off.
- Use the search bar to find the item by PLU, UPC, or description.
- Enter the quantity you want to write off in the Write-off column.
- Choose the correct unit type (e.g., units, cases).
- Click the + button to include the item in your write-off list.
- Repeat these steps for each item you want to write off.
- When done, click the Save button at the top of the page.
- Go back to the Item Write-Off page, find your record, and click Post.
- Your inventory levels will update automatically.
Writing Off an Item in XSite Classic
- Go to Inventory > Item Write-Off in the side menu.
- Choose your store and supplier using the dropdowns.
- Click the Create button to begin a new write-off.
- Search for the item by PLU, UPC, or description.
- Enter the quantity to write off in the Write-off column.
- Select the correct unit type under the Units column.
- Click Add to add the item to your list.
- Repeat as needed for additional items.
- Click Save at the top of the screen when finished.
- Return to the Item Write-Off page, find your record, and click Post to finalize.
- Inventory levels will be adjusted right away.
